Petra's Healing Journey

Using alternative treatments to treat DCIS

Spectrum for Change – Blog Post 34 🌸

As you will know, if you’ve been reading my blog since the beginning, I decided to change the direction of my career path, from supporting people with learning difficulties and mental health conditions, to becoming a life coach.

Through a series of serendipitous events, I met a lovely lady called Victoria and her husband Mick, who developed a new kind of therapy during lockdown, to help children initially, deal with trauma and difficult emotions that were prevalent as a result of the pandemic.

They found its potential to heal trauma was immense, and it is now primarily used to heal CPTSD (complex post traumatic stress disorder), but is incredibly versatile, and can be used on adults and children alike to heal trauma, phobias and limiting beliefs – without having to go into the traumatic events. And it’s really fast! After an initial consultation, a phobia can be released in half an hour. I witnessed this myself, when a friend’s boyfriend, who had been agoraphobic for a decade, had one session, and the next day he accompanied us to Leith Market. I was understandably mind-blown 😳

So Jasper and I decided to train as Spectrum for Change Transition Coaches, and have both just completed the Level 1 training and are now off and running.

Mick and Vick are awaiting NICE accreditation (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence), with a view to this becoming available on the NHS in the future.

I think most of the world are traumatised, to a degree, after everything we’ve been through in the last few years. I feel blessed to be involved with a therapy that can help heal people, quickly and painlessly across the globe 🌍
