Using alternative treatments to treat DCIS

Nipped in the Bud – Blog Post 50 🌸

I went to Livingston on Friday to have prosthetic nipples made.

My plan is to have a big tattoo after my mastectomy, courtesy of my niece, who fortunately happens to be a tattoo artist. I have to wait a year until I can have a tattoo, so I opted for a prosthetic nipple in the interim.

First they squirted purple silicone around my nipple, then did another layer on the top in green (coincidentally my two favourite colours), it was like she was icing a cake on my boob!

When it had dried she peeled it off and took photos of my nipple with a little machine to match the pigment of my areola and bud (I had no idea that’s what the nipply bit was called). She then mixed several colours together until she had a match for the areola, and then did the same for the bud.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience 🤗

They’re going to post out six when they’re ready, and I can request for more anytime I run out.

They’re removable and apparently they can tear, so I can have as many as I need.

I’m considering sticking one to my forehead, just for shits and giggles 😆

Life will never be dull ever again! ✨
